A fresh new site design

We are making huge progress on our engine, and with that, we needed to make a fresh new start on the website as well. Now, creating a browser is the easy part (ahem), but actually creating a website that is a whole different story. We wanted to make a website that is not only informative, but also a pleasure to read and navigate. Not too many bells and whistles, but clear and concise.

So, we came up with a nautical theme, since after all, Gosub’s logo is a submarine exploring the depths of the web.

On the site we have a collection of information about the project, how to contribute and of course, a new blog.

The site itself is currently targeted at people who are interested in the the building of the project and not so much for end-users. We are still a long way from having a product that end-users can use, but we will get there eventually!

We build our site with Hugo, a static site generator that allows us to easily create and manage our content. We also use Tailwind CSS for styling, which gives us a lot of flexibility and allows us to create a unique look for our site. Nothing fancy here, and it makes the site a good candidate to be able to run on our Gosub browser rather sooner than later.

The site will be open sourced as well, so if you want to contribute to the website, feel free to check out our GitHub repository.
